Free-Spirit Records proudly presents the brand new EP 'Star Shine' by Merlin's Apprentice.

Merlin's Apprentice aka Steve Birch proves once again that he's one of the mightiest producers of uplifting full on psy trance around at the moment. Whatever's in those magical spells that he's conjuring up in his studio, the 'Star Shine' EP is testament to his tight production skills featuring catchy riffs, driving basslines and euphoric melodies held together with cheeky samples and playful surprises that are all guaranteed to please any up-for-it dancefloor.

We dare you not to start dancing when you hear the track the EP is named after. 'Star Shine' starts off celebrating the sounds of nature then takes on a decidedly solar spin. Perfectly mixing the organic calls of the birds and animals with the intelligent frequencies of Merlin's magic, this is one seriously psychedelic wake-up call. The elephants concur.

'Double Dip 25' is a hip-shaking foot-stomping hands in the air celebration of all things psychedelic, an exhilarating belter that transports the mind to new levels. And as the rapturous rhythms build, so it leaves you wanting just one more drop.

'UFO Cloud' kicks off with Mal and Ash spotting a suspicious looking vapour in the sky and then transcends into some awesomely acid-laced Goa vibes. Their vocals give the track an ethereal atmospheric edge as the unworldly gaseous entity leads us to believe… it is in fact something else!

Congrats to Merlin's Apprentice and Free-Spirit Records on this tantalising trio of tripped out dancefloor destroyers that will surely be secret weapons in any set over the summer.
